La Défense

La Défense is a major business district just west of the city limits of Paris. It is part of the Paris Metropolitan Area in the Île-de-France region, located in the department Hauts-de-Seine spread across the commune of Courbevoie, as well as parts of Puteaux and Nanterre.

La Défense is Europe’s largest purpose-built business district with 560 hectares (1,400 acres) of area, 72 glass and steel buildings (of which 19 are completed skyscrapers), 180,000 daily workers, and 3,500,000 square metres (38,000,000 sq ft) of office space. Around its Grande Arche and esplanade (“le Parvis”), La Défense contains many of the Paris urban area’s tallest high-rises.

My Worst Enemy

There’s only one person who can keep you from achieving your biggest goals — you. You are either your own worst enemy or your own best friend. So, take a hard look at the bad habits and self-sabotaging tendencies that might keep you from achieving your  goals.

Often, people sabotage themselves because they’re afraid of succeeding. They’re afraid of losing their current identity. These people will make great progress toward a goal and then suddenly, right before achieving it, pull back.

The reason people pull back from success is because they are more comfortable with their past selves than their future selves. They’re uncertain of whom they will become (and if they can handle it), so they fail on purpose. You must avoid this part of yourself. Let go of the person you used to be and open yourself up to the person you can be.

Çiftlik Meltemi

The etesians (meltemi – Turkish) are the strong, dry north winds of the Aegean Sea, which blow from about mid-May to mid-September. The Etesian winds are a dominant weather influence in the Aegean Basin. They are at their strongest in the afternoon and often die down at night. Meltemi winds are dangerous to sailors because they come up in clear weather without warning and can blow at 7–8 Beaufort.

Çiftlik is a small village in the Marmaris district, Muğla Province, Turkey. It is a popular first-day stay for yachts sailing west to Marmaris.

There is an island in the bay wich provides shelter from Meltemi.

Am sa mor? Ce se va întâmpla cu mine?

“Medicii nu trebuie sa evite întrebările dificile, precum: Am sa mor? Ce se  va întâmpla cu mine? As putea primi o a doua opinie?
